Together We Make Dog Training Fun!

In my one-on-one basic obedience training I stress owner participation and your on-going commitment to make our training sessions successful in the long run. I let clients know that from the start of training, I focus as much on training you to be successful in the long run as I am about training your dog to respond to you. My goal is to give you the tools necessary to have a well trained canine companion for life.

Your dog should be your special and trusted companion, and proper training is the first step.

I don’t attempt to simply suppress unwanted behavior using negative or fear-based training methods. I use positive reinforcement training methods in one-on-one training sessions to modify the root of the behavior resulting in a dog that is a pleasure to be around rather than a dog that may become annoying and a burden. I generally work with larger breed dogs but will consider others.

Session one consists of a “meet & greet” evaluation of the dog’s behavior and the owners understanding of the long-term commitment needed to make the training successful. There is no charge for the initial evaluation "meet and greet."

Although I follow a prescribed progression of basic training, unless we are working with only a basic obedience program, I find it more important to address your dog’s specific behavior issues as priority over a strict training schedule.

The basic evaluation session is at no charge and each additional training session - in our general area - is 50.00, payable at the time of the session. We discuss and accomplish a great deal in the early sessions, and many clients feel comfortable with continuing on their own - with my coaching -  after only a few sessions. Other clients realize their training expectations cannot be met in only a few sessions and request I work with them until they are comfortable with proceeding with training on their own. The average number of sessions most clients require is 3 to 5 sessions.

I do offer group training at discounted rates - please contact me for a quote.

And last but not least – at the end of our formal training sessions I do not walk away from you as a client. I am always available on an on-going basis to answer questions and provide you with on-going coaching – your long-term success is my goal.

I would be pleased to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to being of service to you and your canine companion.
